8 Reasons to Recycle Your Old Car and How

Car owners across the country are donating their old clunkers to the Kars4Kids program! If you need a little push in the right direction, try one of these reasons to part with your little old car and recycle your old car.

1. Clean Up Your Yard

If you have an old clunker cluttering up your yard, your neighbors will be thrilled when the tow truck comes to pick up your old eyesore! Just imagine how much easier it will be to keep your yard neat and tidy without a rusty junk pile sitting in the middle of everything.

2. Help the Underprivileged

Each donation to the Kars4Kids program goes to help disadvantaged children. Can you think of a better cause? The proceeds from this non-profit organization help at-risk children emotionally and physically.

3. Boost the Economy

When you purchase a new car, this money helps both the local and the national economy. As you wave goodbye to your old clunker, you’ll feel a sense of satisfaction in the knowledge that your new car will bring joy to your life and help a number of people keep their jobs!

4. Reduce Emissions and Pollution

Old cars are less efficient and produce more air pollution than a comparable new car. By replacing your old ride with a new one, you’ll be doing your part to save gas and promote clean air. Not to mention saving a ton of money with your new one.

5. Get a Bigger Tax Refund

In return for your donation, Kars4Kids will supply you with a receipt that can be used to reduce your annual taxes. Depending on the value of the car, this amount can be as high as $500.

6. Save on Your Next Vacation

If you purchased a new car to replace your Kars4Kids donation, you’re probably dying to take it for a trip. Under normal circumstances, you might not be able to justify the expense after such a large purchase. However, the Kars4Kids program can help you pay for that little vacation!
Along with your tax deduction, you’ll receive a valuable hotel voucher for a 3-day, 2-night hotel stay at your choice of over 40 popular resorts.

7. Reduce Your Liability

Although you may not even drive your old car anymore, you’re still liable for anyone that’s inadvertently injured by it. Of course, this sounds like an impossible scenario, but people have been awarded large amounts in damages for less.
If you’re still paying for car insurance to prevent this from happening, it’ll be one bill that you can immediately remove from your budget.

8. Reusing and Recycling is In!

If your donated car is in fairly good shape, it may be refurbished and put to good use. Even cars that are too far gone to be repaired can be salvaged for their parts and their scrap metal. Do your part to help the environment by reusing and recycling your old car.
If you would like to get rid of your old car, you have plenty of reasons to do it.
