What Makes a Wedding Venue Eco Friendly?

When your big wedding day is approaching, there’s a lot to be taken care of. It’s an intense whirlwind of emotions, and all in a good way. There are a ton of moving parts when it comes to pulling off the perfect wedding ceremony, and making sure that everything is environmentally-friendly can be an extra something to worry about, but it’s an important thing nonetheless. It’s never been more vital that we keep our environment at the very top of our list of priorities, and your wedding venue is a great way to reduce your ecological impact. Larger events and gatherings of people like a wedding are actually a particular strain on the environment in the area, with all the waste that’s produced and energy that gets consumed. Such a big to-do has its costs in terms of the environment, so doing everything you can to offset them really goes a long way. We’ll talk about some of the best ways to make sure your wedding venue is eco-friendly so you can get married without worrying about whether or not you’re also destroying the planet with your love.

As it turns out, it’s probably a little easier than you thought to make sure you’ve got the most eco-friendly wedding venue possible. One of the best ways to do this doesn’t involve exclusively reclaimed water or organic snacks or anything expensive at, really. It mostly takes a little bit of planning and even some restraint. Picking a venue that’s located somewhat centrally to all of your guests is a tremendous way to offset your carbon footprint, and keeping the crowd nice and small goes a long way towards furthering this effort.

You can also opt for your ceremony to happen outside — this will use up a lot less energy, and also probably save you some money on building rental costs while you’re at it. If you’re going with a hotel, you can do your due diligence and make sure to research a hotel that’s particularly green, as there are probably a few more of them around than you might think. You can also go the extra mile and hire a specifically-environmentally-friendly wedding planner who can likely help you really go nuts with your environmental protection, and that’s never a bad thing.

It’s easier than you might think to make your event locations selection an environmentally-friendly part of your wedding planning process, and some of these strategies will make it even easier for you to protect the planet and profess your love at the same time. A lot of us put serious importance on doing our part to protect the environment, and it’s good to know that there are ways to make just about any event a positive celebration that doesn’t have a negative impact on the environment. Using these strategies, you’ll be able to put together an event that your guests never forget, and that you remember for the rest of your life as being one of the most eco-friendly events with which you’ve ever been involved.
