One of the most important things to do is to remain fit. This does not mean that you should diet and starve yourself. The first step is to know your ideal weight (this depends on factors like your height, body constitution, etc.). If you are overweight, then you need to lose some, but if you are underweight, you would need to gain some!

To cut down calories, you need to switch to healthy alternatives like green tea. Include honey in your diet. It has anti-oxidant properties and helps in dissolving fat. You do need fats to maintain a balance, so add olive oil, flax seed, walnuts and almonds to your diet. Benefits of exercise cannot be emphasized more so make it an integral part of your routine.

Tips for staying healthy

Below are some simple things that you can follow for a healthy living:

  1. Drink water – about 8 glasses a day are recommended.
  2. Sleep for 8 hours at night (avoid daytime naps).
  3. The mantra ‘early to bed and early to rise’ works, try it.
  4. Follow a fitness regime. Simple long walks are also effective.
  5. Be conscious of what you eat. Focus should be on fresh, steamed and baked rather than on fried and processed.
  6. Include green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits and try to eat a balanced diet.

 

A healthy mind and a healthy body go hand in hand. Apart from being physically fit, think positive and be happy for mental fitness and be rest assured that diseases will stay away from you.
